gzclient high cpu usage when enabling shadows


I am using a the dolly city world, and I've noticed that my gzclient is near 100% cpu usage. I've noticed that when disabling the shadows the cpu usage of gzclient decreases drastically to around 30%.

I'm quite surprised, because I'd expect any computational cost to be on the gzserver?

In any case, is this actually expected or is it some issue I have in my environment? Does it make sense that rendering shadows in the client is such an heavy CPU consumer (the problem is it also affects the RTF of the entire simulation)
