I am trying to load simple objects into the empty world of gazebo (box, cylinder and sphere.) and scale their sizes to specific values (say x = 2,y=1,z=3 for a box). The below image can give a better picture.

image description

Am able to scale using the scale tool available, but am not able to scale it to specific values, that can be reflected by the x,y and z from the properties on the left panel. Any direction on how I can scale it to specific values?

Note : When I scale the object using the scaling tool to any size, the properties values does not change at all from 1, for XYZ.

2015-09-11 08:45:57 -0500 asked a question Spawn hector quadrotor in custom gazebo world.

I created a custom world using model editor in gazebo4, as shown below.

image description

I was trying to run a fun project where I can fly the quadrotor model through the rings, using vision based algorithm and solution. Thus, I came across hector quadrotor and wanted to use the robot model in this world.

This command can spawn the quadrotor into an empty world

    roslaunch gazebo_ros empty_world.launch

but this requires to have gazebo_ros. and that would remove gazebo4 and this world I created. Can I spawn the hector quadrotor directly into this world of gazebo4?

2015-09-05 02:12:00 -0500 asked a question installing gazbo_ros package

I have ubuntu 14.04 and am using ros_indigo. I am following tutorials from this link to connect gazebo to ros.

I have installled gazebo4 and when I am following the tutorials stated, it doesn't allow me to proceed. Apparently, it keeps forcing me to install gazebo2, which forces me to remove gazebo4.How can I have them both? For eg : I am using drcsim as well, which means I would atleast require gazebo4.
