Hi,

I am new to Gazebo. Installed standalone version of Gazebo 1.7 i guess. I did it for simulating Autonomous Robot Navigation, my final year project.

But by surfing net and looking for how to do path planning, i got some videos and chunks of help but were all related to ROS or RVIZ.

And whenever i go to ROS it says me

And i return back.

I read that there are at the moment two most commonly used SLAM implementations in 2D are GMapping/OpenSLAM and Hector SLAM. They were for ROS.

Kindly let me know and guide me how todo that stuff in GAZEBO STANDALONE or if its not possible, help me with this using ROS.

I am a beacholers student choose final year project to be shortest path finder and planner including dynamic obstacle detection (A robotic Car). As i am new to gazebo, looking at some official tutorials i got to know how to make a car move. But where should i exactly start from, i dont know how to even avoid static obstacles.

Please guide me, where could i get some extra help ???

i copied > export GAZEBOMODELPATH=$HOME/gazeboplugintutorial/models:$GAZEBOMODELPATH at end of the .bashrc file... But it gives me the same error .... Dont know why ???

Hi, I am new to Gazebo and learning it as i have to do my Final Year Project in it. I am following the tutorials from the official site of gazebo and now i am stuck at Inserting Models Plugin.

When at the end i run server it shows error.

Error [Plugin.hh:126] Failed to load plugin libfactory.so: libfactory.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I discovered that the directory is build/libfactory.so, i changed the directory in the world file but still it gives me the same error. :/

NOTE: I am making the files and folders on my home directory, not in gazebo directory. But previous 2 examples of plugins worked fine.

Thankyou so very much :) While trying i also used full path but using 2 forward-slashes only... Here you had 3 so when i tried this way... It showed me the duck :) Thanks again :)

2013-07-01 16:35:21 -0500 asked a question Import custom .dae file in gazebo from the world file, error of path does not exist

I am new to gazebo and following the tutorial from the official website. But i am stuck at Test The Mesh heading. I made the grass.world file and pasted the code given in tutorial.

And i also copied the duck.dae file along with the duck.png file in the same directory of the world files.

But when i run

gazebo /usr/share/gazebo-1.8/worlds/grass.world

It opens empty world and not shows any duck

(gazebo:5903): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "pixmap",

Error [SystemPaths.cc:370] File or path does not exist[""]

Error [Visual.cc:2069] No mesh specified

I dont know where i am going wrong, just following the tutoral.
