It works fine for me with SkidSterring plugin in gazebo_ros_pkgs. I am willing to make the pull request, but first I wanted to ask if SetParam works with Gazebo versions <5.0, otherwise a compile time check is neeeded

2015-04-14 09:17:56 -0500 commented answer SetMaxForce deprecated in gazebo 5.0

check the warnings (run with --verbose) It should works fine, however I think joint->SetParam("max_force", index, maxForce); should be joint->SetParam("fmax", index, maxForce); according to previous answers

2014-10-18 17:07:17 -0500 answered a question ft_sensor plugin - does it work? zero force/torque published

It seems that, as for Gazebo 4.0.0, the <provide_feedback> tag must be put outside of ode, inside the physics tag.

Here the fixed gist:

https://gist.github.com/clynamen/441b41efcc643039ff89

with --verbose a warning is issued when the <provide_feedback> tag is missing.

2014-10-18 16:20:47 -0500 asked a question ft_sensor plugin - does it work? zero force/torque published

Does the ft_sensor plugin works currently? I am trying it on Gazebo 4.0, it seems to be set up correctly, but it always publishes a zero value, both for force and torque.

This is an extract from the .sdf file I use:

https://gist.github.com/clynamen/de7a403643bdb508d505#file-gistfile1-txt

(I linked a gist since the code format does not seem to work)

If it does work for you, can you give your configuration or point me out another test case?
