Deleted Models Still Listed In World's Model Insert Tab

Hi Everyone, When I launch Gazebo and go into the "Insert" tab to insert a model into the world, old models which I have previously deleted are still listed in the "Insert" tab. This is in Gazebo 8 running on Mac OS X.

Is there a way to clear this? Perhaps there is a cached file somewhere that needs to be deleted?

Could you explain in the question how you deleted the models?

With Gazebo stopped I used Finder (on the Mac) and deleted the "model.sdf" and "model.config" files. I then deleted the folder the model file was in. When I start Gazebo again the model is still listed in the "Insert" tab. I have even deleted the files from the trash, but it is still listed. Nothing happens if I click on the link (the link does turn orange in color, but nothing else happens).

Unfortunately, there's currently no way to refresh the list of models in the insert tab after Gazebo has been opened. You'd have to close it and open it again for the list to be updated.

You could create an issue to request the feature.

I probably should have used a better description or different wording. When I said I "stop" Gazebo, I meant that I closed the application. When I said I "start" Gazebo I meant that I launched/opened the application. My apologies. Closing and re-opening the application does not remove the deleted model from the list. It's not a major problem, just a little annoying visually. Could it be due to the fact that this came from a nightly build?

Oh ok, I should have considered that option. I can't reproduce the issue on Ubuntu, so it might be an issue on Mac. Have you tried running in verbose mode and checking if there are errors? Gazebo supposedly checks the filesystem on startup, if the folders aren't there, they shouldn't show up.

I've restarted Gazebo with the verbose flag. It doesn't show any errors. Perhaps it's just a Mac thing. It's not a critical thing, just a little annoying. Thanks for looking into it.

I do have another question, but I'll post it as a different topic.
