Hi there,

I just installed Gazebo 8 with apt-get on Kubuntu 16.04 and headed to the tutorials. I soon realized I can't really follow the instructions because of missing section in the Insert Tab of Model Editor:

Any advice for a total novice?

Tanks!

That looks like a bug. Do you mind ticketing an issue? Thanks! https://bitbucket.org/osrf/gazebo/issues/new

I have the same issue in Kubuntu 16.04. Cdfghglz stated(in bug report) a fresh install solves the problem but I don't want to do fresh install. Any advise to solve the problem ? Edit: Issue resolved after ROS installation. I installed ROS with : sudo apt-get install ros-kinetic-desktop-full then opened and used Model database in Model Editor.
