Which Graphics card is compatible with Gazebo 7 on ubuntu 16.04

At present I am using a GT218 graphics card on a 7th generation intel i7 CPU, and suffering from HIGH CPU USAGE by GZserver (as discussed here).

The only solution I see at the moment is to switch the graphics card. I want to be certain that the graphics card I will buy will work with my current Hardware/Software combination (rig).

I do feel that there is lack of information regarding commonly working (read tested) hardware/software/graphics card configuration information. Thus I request community to share information regarding your working rig details.

Nvidia GTX 960 works for me.
