Gazebo sun does not fully light my object

As you can see in the picture. My plate with aruco markers seems to be gray. When actually it sould be white. I guess this hase something to do with my sun??? I already adjusted the sun diffuse pose and specular parameters but still my object seems to be gray.... why is that so?

It may help if you share your model, there could be something in it which is making it gray.

I notice the same thing when using Gazebo 9. Compared to Gazebo 7, everything in G9 seems 'darker'.
