Citysim on Gazebo 9 seems slow
Hi,
I've installed the latest Gazebo 9 and managed to run CitySim https://bitbucket.org/osrf/citysim/src/default/
However, I find that its really slow even if I run it on a high-spec AWS EC2 instance (tested on g2.8xlarge with 32 vCPU & 60 GB RAM). It doesn't look as smooth as the video in the blog post here http://gazebosim.org/blog/car_sim
I also noticed that in the blog post, it points to a 'citysim branch' of Gazebo https://bitbucket.org/osrf/gazebo/branch/citysim.
So I'm wondering what's the difference between this branch and the now released Gazebo 9. Which version should I use? And will it make the simulation faster and smoother?

The citysim branch shouldn't make a difference in performance, it only has support for a couple of extra features, like rain and point cloud visualization.
Also, I suspect that video was sped up.
