Simulating active stereo vision with line laser and camera
Hi
I am considering if Gazebo is the right tool for a task that I'm currently working on. As I have never used Gazebo, I have very little idea about its strengths and weaknesses.
What I want is to simulate an active stereo vision system composed of a laser and a camera. The laser is capable of projecting a uniform line beam onto some 3D geometry (which I have in the form of an STL file). The camera captures the light that is reflected from the surface and generates an image frame. The resulting 2D image is then used for image processing and testing various algorithms used in active stereo vision.
My question is: Is that possible to do in Gazebo and how?
