Gazebo 7 freezes after a minute or two of launch.

I installed gazebo 7 with ROS kinetic. It was missing 'diagnostic' and 'models' folder. So I copied them from my friends' '.gazebo' folder. Now after each launch it works for a minute or two then whole laptop freezes (nothing works except power button). NOTE: I previously had the gazebo in the same laptop which never showed such issues. Due to some partition issue I had to format and reinstall windows and ubuntu 16.04 in dual boot again. Now, everything works smooth and fine except for gazebo.
