Joint velocities noisy when applying large forces in a static configuration

The joint velocities are smooth and make sense most the time, but when applying large forces in a static configuration I get spikes in the velocity even though nothing is moving.

I am wondering if this might be due to the correction of the joint position to keep it correct?

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
