How would you be able to tell if joint_states is receiving states from multiple sources?

I have a 4DOF custom arm that I suspect is receiving states from multiple sources. What would be the best way to determine this?

rostopic info joint_states 

outputs both the publisher sand subscribers associated with the topic above.
