Is GazeboSim capable of importing a 3D model robot object and then controlling the joint axes from a PLC?

I would like to create some simple robot simulations using either Solidworks or Inventor software to import a robot 3D model into GazeboSim and then control the robot joint axes motion from a PLC program via ethernet. Is this possible?
