Hi, Are there any airplane models that are available for simulation? Where can I find such models? I am looking for a very basic airplane model, something on which I can mount a camera and fly. Thanks

While hector_quadrotor of course is awesome :D, there actually has been some work on simulating airplanes in Gazebo. See gazebo pull request 905 on Bitbucket and a video uploaded by John @hsu. Hope he chimes in with some info on when (and if) we can expect full integration with Gazebo.

Need unit tests, going to try and make that happen before the 3/7 gazebo 3.0 code freeze deadline.

Hi,

I have never seen an airplane but quadrotos. If you want to use ros you can try those hector_quadrotor

generally using flying robots in gazebo is a bit tricky because you have no real model for air... So using a flying robot in the physic simulation is allways "faked"...

the quadrotor packages have launch files with an attached camera/kinnect... and you can use a pad to teleop the robot(if you want to...)

I hope this helps...

Thanks.. I will go through the quad-rotor model. It will surely be helpful to design the plane.
