Bug in Gazebo control
I have followed most of the instructions given in this link to interface gazebo with ROS: Gazebo with ROS
When I try to control my robot model using turtle_teleop_key through ROS, the wheels start rotating but the robot does not move forward. After I use my mouse and manually move the robot a bit, it then starts moving and follows my teleoperation commands.
Below attached is a screencast showing the problem.
What version of ROS and Gazebo are you using?
