How to get Base pointer from gazebo ?

I am trying to use gazebo::physics::Joint::GetVelocity() function. But for constructor of gazebo::physics::Joint(), we need inputs as ; (BasePtr _parent). Can you tell me how can I get these parameters ? Thank you .
