2013-05-22 21:29:53 -0500 commented answer Problem with roslaunch after upgrading to Gazebo-1.8 & DRCSim-2.6

I have two laptops with Intel GPUs and they both show same issue with launching atlas. I will try to use that patch. Thanks. By the way, how can downgrade to DRCSim-2.5?

2013-05-21 18:47:24 -0500 asked a question Problem with roslaunch after upgrading to Gazebo-1.8 & DRCSim-2.6

Hello,

Today I upgraded to Gazebo-1.8 and DRCSim-2.6 and now I encounter a problem after running "roslaunch atlas_utils atlas.launch". Gazebo fails to start properly and freezes in a gray screen then dies. This the message I get:

  [ WARN] [1369173843.179656077]: The input topic '/multisense_sl/camera/left/image_raw' is not yet advertised
  [ WARN] [1369173843.179814558]: The input topic '/multisense_sl/camera/left/camera_info' is not yet advertised
  [ WARN] [1369173843.179845859]: The input topic '/multisense_sl/camera/right/image_raw' is not yet advertised
  [ WARN] [1369173843.179875473]: The input topic '/multisense_sl/camera/right/camera_info' is not yet advertised
  [gazebo-1] process has finished cleanly

Thanks for any help,

Thanks. I am not sure what WONTFIX flag means here for this issue.

2012-11-21 14:13:54 -0500 asked a question drc_robot appears with no legs and no right hand.why?

Hi,

Whenever I insert drc_robot in gazebo( gazebo 1.2.6 and DRCsim 1.1 Ubuntu 12.04) using gui, I get this error message and the robot appears in the world with no right hand and no legs. What is going on here? Is that supposed to be like this?

   [ INFO] [1353527588.743735461]: Laser plugin missing <hokuyoMinIntensity>, defaults to 101
   [ INFO] [1353527588.743823824]: INFO: gazebo_ros_laser plugin should set minimum intensity to 101.000000 due to cutoff in hokuyo filters.

2012-11-19 13:56:51 -0500 asked a question How can I add a plugin to drc_robot?

Hello every body,

I added this line <plugin name="my_plugin" filename="libmy_plugin.so"/> to drcsim-1.0/models/drc_robot/model.sdf

and also added the plugin's path to GAZEBO_PLUGIN_PATH. What else should I do to run the plugin? when calling "roslaunch drc_robot_utils drc_robot.launch"

I am working with Gazebo 1.2.3 and DRC simulator 1.0.0 and ROS fuerte under Linux.

Thanks.

2012-09-28 11:43:00 -0500 answered a question publish a topic

Thanks for you answer. Can You also point me to the list of functions that interface the msg class? For instance, in JointTestPlugin.cc, some functions are being called _msg.position() and _msg.force(). Where are these functions defined in API?

Also, there is a line in the load function:

this->velSub = this->node->Subscribe(std::string("~/") + this->model->GetName() + "/joint_test_cmd",
  &JointTestPlugin::OnJointCmdMsg, this);

I understand that the topic ~/modelname/jointtest_cmd is being subscribed but I don't know where this topic is advertised (perhaps in a separate program?). Where is that program in gazebo folder?

Thanks for you help and sorry for my very long question.

2012-09-26 16:31:31 -0500 asked a question publish a topic

Hello all,

I am don't how to write a program to interface with Gazebo (not a plugin) to send some velocity commands in shape of a message(topic) and receive it in a model plugin. Can you point me to an example?

I have already read this page http://gazebosim.org/wiki/Tutorials/beginner/topics , but it is not enough for me. If the message is not built-in how can I publish it using a separate program?

Thanks for your help,

Have you checked that the cup's material is supported by this version of Gazebo? I am not sure if this will solve the problem.
